Motorola Moto G6 Series and Moto E5 Series With 18:9 Display Announced

Motorola finally launched the much-rumoured Moto G6 and the Moto E5 series at an event in Brazil recently.While the Moto G6, the G6 Plus, the G6 Play, the E5, and the E5 Plus have the Max Vision display with 18:9 aspect ratio as their highlight, the Moto E5 Play comes with the usual 16:9 aspect ratio.

Moto G6 series:

Moto G6: The smartphone comes with a 5.7-inch Full HD Max Vision display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. With 3D glass back, the device comes in two RAM/ROM options: 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM. The camera department has dual cameras (rated at 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel) at the back while the front camera stands at 8-megapixel. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo. Additionally, there is fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button.



Moto G6 Plus: The G6 Plus has a 5.9-inch Full HD display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The camera department is the same as the Moto G6, along with an increased 3,200mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo. The home button in the smartphone too doubles as a fingerprint scanner.


Moto G6 Play: The last member of the G6 series sports a 5.7-inch HD display with the same aspect ratio as the G6 and the G6 Plus and is powered by Snapdragon 427 SoC. There are two RAM/ ROM variants: 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM/32GB ROM, 13-megapixel primary snapper and a 5-megapixel front camera. The device is backed by a huge 4,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo. Furthermore, there is a front-facing fingerprint scanner.


The Motorola Moto G6, the Moto G6 Plus and the Moto G6 Play start at $249, $299 and $199, respectively. The smartphones are available in Brazil and will eventually reach out to other markets.


Moto E5 series:

Moto E5:The first in the E5 family is the Moto E5 coming with a 5.7-inch HD+ display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor. It comes with 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, a 4,000mAh battery, 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front shooter, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.


Moto E5 Plus: The device features a 6-inch HD+ display with the same aspect ratio as the aforementioned devices and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 chipset. It comes with 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, a 5,000mAh battery and Android 8.0 Oreo. Camera-wise, there is a 12-megapixel rear snapper and an 8-megapixel front shooter.


Moto E5 Play: The low-end smartphone sports a 5.2-inch HD display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of ROM, 8-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front snapper, a 2,800mAh battery, a fingerprint
scanner, and runs Android 8.0 Oreo.

The Motorola Moto E5 and the Moto E5 Plus start at Euros 149 and Euros 169, respectively. However, there is no pricing detail for the Moto E5 Play available. 

Tecno Camon i Sky Review With Pros and Cons

Targeting the millenials, Transsion Holdings-owned offline handset brand Tecno Mobile has come up with its latest Tecno Camon i Sky in India. The main highlight of the smartphone is its Face Unlock sensor.

The dual-SIM Tecno Camon i Sky runs HiOS 3.3.0 on top of Android 8.1 Oreo, and sports a 5.45-inch Full View IPS display with an 18:9 aspect ratio and screen-to-body ratio of 81.3 per cent. It is powered by a 1.28GHz 64-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6739WA SoC, coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable via microSD card.


On the camera front, the Tecno Camon i Sky houses a single 13-megapixel rear sensor with features such as PDAF, f/2.0 aperture, and 5P lens. The front camera gets an 8-megapixel sensor with Boosted Dual selfie flash that combines a front-facing LED flash and screen flash to offer enhanced selfies and video calls. It is powered by a 3050mAh battery.

Connectivity options on the board include 4G VoLTE, ViLTE, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Micro-USB. Sensors onboard are ambient light sensor, face unlock sensor, fingerprint sensor, gravity sensor, and proximity sensor.

The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 7,499 and is available in Midnight Black and Champagne Gold colour variants across various offline retailers in the country.As part of its 111 policy, Tecno is offering 100 days’ replacement warranty, one-time screen replacement, and one-month extended warranty.

Infocus Vision 3 Pro Review and Full Specifications

US-based handset maker InFocus has come up with a new budget smartphone, called the Vision 3 Pro, in India. Talking about the spec sheet, the InFocus Vision 3 boasts 5.7-inch HD+ IPS wide-angle, ON-CELL High transparent display of 1440x720p resolution with 18:9 aspect ratio.

Powered by an octa-core MTK 6750T MediaTek processor, the smartphone offers 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage with a microSD card support of up to 128GB. It runs on Android Nougat 7.0 out-of-the-box and is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.



In terms of the optics, the InFocus Vision 3 Pro has a dual rear camera setup of 13-megapixel primary sensor paired with an 8-megapixel secondary camera and comes with features such as a 120-degree wide-angle lens, f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and LED flash. On the front, there is a 13-megapixel fixed-focus sensor with f/2.2 aperture.

On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, and GPS. For security, the smartphone also has a fingerprint sensor and a face unlock functionality as well.

The InFocus Vision 3 Pro is priced at Rs 10,999 and is exclusively available on Amazon India. Amazon is giving an option to buy the Vision 3 Pro on EMIs starting Rs 523 a month and gives an exchange value of up to Rs 9,522.

BRITZO Unveils ‘Make in India’ Phone Brand iVVO, Price Starts At Rs 649

Britzo, a new entrant in the Indian market, recently launched its mobile phone brand iVVO in India which was followed by the rollout of eight of its smart 2G feature phones which are segmented across five product categories; BEATZ, PRIMO, TUFF, SELFEE and VOLT and are part of the government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.

All of the launched products are priced between Rs 649 to Rs 5,999 and come with features like multilingual support of over 22 Indian languages including English, Hindi & Urdu, Wi-Fi tethering, facial recognition, phone-based WhatsApp, and shatterproof smartphone screens which are aimed at the rural population.

Talking about technical specifications,the Reach Allure Rise comes with a 5.5-inch HD IPS display with the screen resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels. The display is covered with a scratch-proof hard coated surface. Under the hood, the smartphone is driven by a quad-core processor that runs at 1.3GHz. The chipset is teamed up with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage, which is further expandable up to 64GB using the microSD card.



In the camera department, the smartphone features an 8MP rear-facing camera that is equipped with an LED flash. Up front, there is a 5MP camera for selfies and video calls.

Domestic handset maker Intex has launched yet another budget smartphone, called the Intex Uday in collaboration with retail chains of Pune – Kensha Mobiles, Mehta Telecom, Manik Mobile Shopee & The Corner Mobile.

Talking about the spec sheet, the Intex Uday comes with a 5.2-inch HD IPS display and is powered by a quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The smartphone comes equipped with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 128GB via a memory card.

Chinese company Coolpad has announced two new budget smartphones, dubbed the Coolpad A1 and Coolpad Mega 4A in India.Starting with the Coolpad A1, the smartphone comes with a 5-inch full HD display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. The smartphone comes equipped with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which comes with the option to expand up to 64GB with the use of a memory card.

According to the listing, the main highlight of the Canvas Infinity Life is the aspect ratio rated at 18:9, much like its predecessors- the Canvas Infinity and Canvas Infinity Pro.


The listing suggests that the smartphone comes with a 5.45-inch HD+ IPS display covered with a layer of 2.5D curved glass. After recently unveiling the budget Oppo A83 in the A series in India, Chinese handset major Oppo has now launched the upgraded version of the smartphone, dubbed the Oppo A83 Pro in the country.

The Oppo A83 Pro shares most of the specifications with the Oppo A83, except for the increased 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage (with the ability to be expanded up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card) the former possesses.

Nokia 6 (2018), Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 8 Sirocco Unveiled in India

After showcasing them for the first time at this year’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Nokia brand licensee HMD Global has brought the Nokia 6 (2018), the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco smartphones to the Indian shores. While the Nokia 8 Sirocco is the most premium offering from HMD Global so far, the Nokia 7 Plus and Nokia 6 have been placed at different price points in the mid-range segment.
     
        Most importantly, the Nokia 6 (2018), the Nokia 7 Plus and the Nokia 8 Sirocco come with Face Unlock, AI-based stickers and are part of the Android One initiative.

Nokia 6 (2018):
The successor to the Nokia 6 – the Nokia 6 (2018) – comes with several improvements over the predecessor such as the company’s Bothie feature (for the usage of the primary and the secondary cameras simultaneously), an upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor, and ZEISS lens.


       The Nokia 6 (2018) features a 5.5-inch display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and a layer of 2.5D curved glass, 3GB of RAM, and 32GB of internal storage. The camera department houses a 16-megapixel rear shooter featuring dualtone LED flash and PDAF, while the front snapper stands at 8-megapixel.

Nokia 7 Plus:

Vivo Y71 With 18:9 Aspect Ratio and Android 8.1 Launched

Chinese smartphone maker Vivo has silently launched a new budget smartphone in its Y series, known as the Vivo Y71 in India.

The USP of the smartphone is the 5.99-inch HD+ display which comes with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, making way for thin bezels. The Vivo Y71 is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes equipped with 16GB of internal storage which comes with the option to expand with the help of a memory card.


On the camera front, the smartphone comprises a 13- megapixel primary snapper with LED flash, while the one at the front is rated at 5-megapixel for selfies and video calling. The smartphone gets its power from a 3,360mAh battery and runs Android 8.1 Oreo.

The device has room for dual SIM card slots, and comes with various connectivity options such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.The Vivo Y71 comes with a price tag of Rs 10,990 and will be up for grabs via retail stores in the country.
