Infinix Hot S3 gets Face Unlock feature via OTA Update

The recently launched Hot S3 by Transsion Holdings-owned Infinix has received the Face Unlock feature, available via an over-the-air update.

The USP of the smartphone is the camera department which features a 20-megapixel front-facing shooter featuring dual LED soft flash and 5P Lens. The front camera supports Bokeh effect.The primary snapper stands at 13-megapixel with PDAF. 

Another highlight is the 5.65-inch HD+ Full View display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9 and is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The smartphone comes in two RAM/ROM variants- 3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, both the variants expandable up to 256GB with the use of a microSD card.

The Infinix Hot S3 gets its fuel from a huge 4,000mAh battery which is expected to last up to two days on a single charge and runs the company’s XOS 3 based on Android 8.0 Oreo.

The dual-SIM smartphone is topped with connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, GPS, GLONASS, and micro USB.

Moreover, the Infinix Hot S3 is accompanied by a rearmounted fingerprint scanner and comes in Sandstone Black and Brush Gold colour options.The Infinix Hot S3 is priced at Rs 8,999 (3GB RAM/32GBROM) and Rs 10,999 (4GB RAM/64GB ROM).

Xiaomi Redmi 5A Rose Gold Colour Variant for Rs 4999

After several teasers, Xiaomi has unveiled the Rose Gold colour variant of the recently unveiled Redmi 5A in India. The new colour option will be up for grabs exclusively via Flipkart, starting February 1 at 12 noon.Following several teasers, Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has come up with the Rose Gold colour variant of the recently launched Redmi 5A in India.


To recall, the Xiaomi Redmi 5A or ‘Desh Ka Smartphone’ features a 5-inch HD display and is powered by quad-core 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor clocked at 1.4GHz. The smartphone comes in two RAM/ROM variants- 2GB RAM/16GB ROM and 3GB RAM/32GB ROM, both the options coming with the option to expand
up to 128GB with the use of a microSD card.

In terms of the optics, the Redmi 5A houses a 13-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash, 5p lens and PDAF, while the front-facing snapper is rated at 5-megapixel.

It has its highlight in the form of the 3,000mAh battery which is claimed to last up to eight days of standby time.The smartphone runs the latest MIUI 9.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat, and supports facial recognition.

The Xiaomi Redmi 5A is priced at Rs 4,999 (2GBRAM/16GB ROM), discounted from Rs 5,999 for the first five million units and Rs 6,999 (3GB RAM/32GB ROM).The new colour option is up for grabs exclusively via Flipkart.

Honor 9 Lite Grey Colour Variant Announced in India

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has come up with a new colour variant of the Honor 9 Lite in India. The new Glacier Grey colour variant is in addition to the  xisting Sapphire Blue and Midnight Black colour options.

For those who have forgotten, the main highlight of the Honor 9 Lite is the quad-camera setup it comes with. The rear duo is rated at 13-megapixel and 2-egapixel with the front pair featuring the same configuration as the rear cameras. Another highlight is the 5.65-inch full HD+ IPS FullView display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9.

The smartphone is powered by the company’s 64-bit octa-core Kirin 659 processor along with Mali T830-MP2 GPU. The device comes in two RAM /ROM configurations-3GB RAM/32GB ROM and 4GB RAM/64GB ROM, both the options expandable up to 128GB via a memory card.

The Honor 9 Lite is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and runs Android 8.0 Oreo with Huawei’s EMUI 8.0 on top. Additionally, the smartphone is accompanied by a rearmounted fingerprint scanner.

The Honor 9 Lite is priced at Rs 10,999 (3GBRAM/32GB ROM) and Rs 14,999 (4GB RAM/64GBROM). The new Glacier Grey colour option is up for grabs exclusively via Flipkart.

InFocus A2 with 4G VoLTE Support unveiled in India

Foxconn-backed InFocus has launched a new budget smartphone, dubbed the InFocus A2 in India. The main highlight of the smartphone is the 4G VoLTE support it comes with.

In terms of the technical specifications, the InFocus A2 comes with a 5-inch HD display covered by a layer of 2.5D curved glass and is powered by a quad-core Spreadtrum SC9832 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The smartphone has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 64GB with the use of a microSD card.

In the camera department, the smartphone features a 5-megapixel rear snapper with LED flash with the front-facing camera also rated at 5-megapixel for selfies and video calling.

The InFocus A2 gets its fuel from a 2,400mAh battery and runs Android 7.0 Nougat with 360 UI on top. The smartphone is topped with connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM radio, GPS, Micro-USB port and 3.5mm headphone jack.


The InFocus A2 comes with a price tag of Rs 5,199 and is available in Black and Champagne Gold colour variants.

Additionally, Reliance Jio users will get an extra 30GB of data and MobiKwik users will get a cashback of up to Rs 300 on the purchase of the InFocus A2.

TECNO Camon i Air First Impressions

Soon after launching the Camon I, Transsion Holdingsowned Tecno Mobile has introduced a new budget smartphone, dubbed the Camon I Air in India, if a tweet by famous Mumbai-based retailer Mahesh Telecom is to be believed. However, the said smartphone is still not listed on the company’s website.

Talking about the hardware specifications, the Techno Camon I Air comes with a 5.65-inch HD+ FullView display with a screen resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels and an aspect ratio rated at 18:9. The smartphone is powered by a quadcore MediaTek MTK6737H processor clocked at 1.3GHz, along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone comes equipped with 16GB of RAM which comes with the option to expand up to 128GB via a memory card.

In the camera department, the Camon I Air houses a 13-megapixel featuring Quad LED flash while the frontfacing snapper is rated at 8-megapixel, with Video Chat flash.

The device gets its power from a 3,050mAh battery and runs the company’s HiOS operating system based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The smartphone is topped with
connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and micro-USB port.

Moreover, the Camon I Air features a fingerprint scanner at the back, and comes in Champagne Gold and Midnight Black colour variants.The Tecno Camon I Air comes with a price of Rs 7,999 and will be available via offline stores.

Review Of HTC U11 Plus: A Cherished Possession To Flaunt

Honor 7X Red Color Variant

Huawei’s sub-brand Honor recently unveiled a new limited edition red colour variant of the Honor 7X in the US. The special edition smartphone will be up for grabs on Valentine’s Day in countries such as the United States, Russia, India and Western Europe (United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and
Spain).

The new colour variant of the Honor 7X has just 20,000 units manufactured, and the first 100 customers will get Red co-branded Honor-Monster AM15 headphones as a special gift.

In terms of the specs, the new variant shares the same specs as the original Honor 7X. The Honor 7X sports a 5.93-inch full HD+ bezel-less display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9. It is powered by the company’s Kirin 659 processor, coupled with 4GB of RA M.

The smartphone comes in three internal storage options-32GB, 64GB and 128GB, all the three options coming with the expandability option of up to 256GB via a memory card.

In the camera department, there are two camera sensors at the back, rated at 16-megapixel and 2-megapixel each, while the one at the front is an 8-megapixel one.

HTC: HTC U11 EYEs With Dual Front Cameras

Following several leaks and speculations, HTC has finally announced the U11 EYE s smartphone in China and Taiwan.The HTC U11 EYEs comes with a 6-inch full HD+ display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, featuring minimal bezels.

Another highlight is the camera department, which consists of a dual-camera setup at the front, each camera sensor rated at 5-megapixel. The front cameras support HDR, Bokeh mode for both videos and images, and various beauty modes. The primary shooter stands at 12-megapixel and features OIS, PDAF, UltraPixel 3 technology, fast HDR, EIS and dual-tone LED flash.

The HTC U11 EYEs is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 processor clocked at 1.8GHz, coupled with 4GB of RA M and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable up to 2TB with the use of a microSD card.

The smartphone is backed by a 3930mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 tech and power saving mode. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo out-of-the-box with HTC Sense on top.

The smartphone is topped with various connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth v4.2, USB Type-C, GPS, A-GPS, GLONASS, and NFC.

Additionally, the HTC U11 EYE s is accompanied by a fingerprint scanner at the back, facial recognition, HTC Usonic active noise reduction headphones, HTC Edge Sense technology and IP67 certification. The device comes in Metallic Blue, Black and Red colour options.

The HTC U11 EYE s comes with a price tag of CNY 3,299 (around Rs 32,660).

Energizer Power Max P600S

Exclusively known for producing batteries, Energizer has officially launched a new smartphone, dubbed the Power Max P600S.

The main highlight of the smartphone is the 4500mAh battery it is backed by, with a standby time of up to 16 days and usage time of up to 12 hours. The battery also supports fast charging.

In terms of the spec sheet, the Energizer Power Max P600S comes with a 5.99-inch full HD display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9, making it a member of the bezel-less clan. The smartphone is powered by octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chipset clocked at 2.45GHz.

The smartphone comes in two variants: one with 3GB of RA M, 32GB of internal storage, painted in Black colour and the model with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of ROM, in Blue colour.

In the camera department, the Power Max P600S houses a dual- camera module by Samsung, rated at 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel, while the front-facing snapper stands at 8-megapixel.

With a carbon fiber-looking rear side, the smartphone runs Android 7.1 Nougat. The Power Max P600S is also accompanied by USB Type-C port and a rear-mounted

OnePlus 5T Lava Red is now official in India


Unveiled recently in China, the new Lava Red colour variant of the OnePlus 5T is now official in India. The special edition smartphone, painted in red, comes with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Talking about the technical specifications, the OnePlus 5T comes with a 6.01-inch full HD+ full Optic AMOLED display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9. It is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor.

The camera department houses a dual rear camera  etup, rated at 16-megapixel and 20- megapixel. However, the secondary camera at the back comes with changed aperture rated at f/1.7 as compared to the OnePlus 5, with the absence of a telephoto lens. The front-facing shooter is rated at 16-megapixel with improvements for low-light photography, using  ntelligent Pixel Technology.

Talking about other specs, the Tecno Camon I is powered by a 64-bit quad-core processor, coupled with 3GB of RA M. The smartphone comes equipped with 32GB of internal storage which comes with the option to expand up to 128GB via a microSD card.

In terms of optics, there is a 13-megapixel rear snapper with 5p lens, Quad LED flash. The one at the front is also rated at 13-megapixel featuring front flash and screen flash.
